Special attention is paid to the portraits Byrd\u00a0sketched on notepaper while on the job and painted years later, of the men and women\u00a0at the Veterans\u2019 Affairs hospital in Montrose, NY, where he worked as an orderly from\u00a01958 \u2013 1988.
